Eric Gicharu is a Director at Grant Thornton Kenya. He joined the firm in 2020 after 14 years at Ernst & Young LLP where he rose through the ranks from an associate to a Senior Manager. Cumulatively, he has 17 years of experience during which he has served clients in diverse industries including Insurance, Asset Management, SACCOs, manufacturing, and energy among others. During this time, he has also gained extensive knowledge on the relevant International Financial Reporting Standards as well as international quality control, auditing, review, other assurance, and related services standards and pronouncements.

Further, he is a key member of the strategy team under the quality and risk management pillar. The goal of the pillar is to deliver sustainable growth for the firm through an increase in real and perceived quality and by mitigating risk. He also ensures compliance with the codes of Ethics including independence.
